Surprisingly, one history lesson for them who thinks, any business will not last long more than 50 years or 1 generation! An initial journey from Europe on 3rd October 1752, was the initiation of another business tradition & set in motion the story of the 2nd oldest wine estate in South Africa, which is always kept by the same family. Each of the 7th generations devoted their thought & business strategy since 1822 and counting.
Eventually, Deetlefs is the 2nd oldest family maintained wine estate in whole South Africa. They now steeped in 7th generations of history since 1822. The wine estate is stationed at the bottom part of ‘Du Toitskloof Mountains’ in the Breedekloof Valley, Rawsonville; the land has rigidly become a constituent of the farm for vineyards & wine.
Furthermore, the Kobus Deetlefs, who is the 7th generation Owner & Managing Director, has continued to push forward his family name & the business with a very fearless approach of the winemaking process, propagandize a culture of flexibility & courage in everything they are acting at.
Meanwhile, the Deetlefs now produces 3 distinct ranges of wine. They each come with their own unique storyline.
